Emergency services have been called to an incident in St James's Road, Croydon. Police officers and ambulance were spotted parked in the road at around 3.30pm this afternoon. A group of people, as well as officers, were seen standing outside a block of flats in the road. An air ambulance has also landed at land off Windmill Grove, but it is unclear if this is connected to the incident in St James's Road. Ten fire engines have been called to battle a large fire in Ockham, near Effingham. Crews in Surrey were called to blazing buildings and machinery, in Long Reach, earlier this morning, according to a tweet from Surrey Fire and Rescue Service. The road has reportedly been closed off while the flames are extinguished and residents in the area can smell smoke. The A23 is reportedly closed just south of Gatwick Airport. According to motorists in the area, the road was closed near the roundabout for Gatwick Road and Perimeter Road East earlier this afternoon. One driver described passing a BMW completely engulfed in flames and a photo from the scene shows a burnt out vehicle.
