Recap: Burton Albion v Queen's Park Rangers

BURTON Albion take on a Championship side for the first and only time this pre-season when they host Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's Queen's Park Rangers at the Pirelli Stadium tonight (7.30pm). Hasselbaink will be returning to the Pirelli Stadium for the second time since stepping down as Brewers boss to take charge at Loftus Road, having previously been a guest of the club at Albion's 0-0 draw with October back in March. The Dutchman will also bring former Brewers winger Nasser El Khayati with him to the Pirelli, six months after El Khayati left the club in a move that landed Albion a club record transfer fee received for a player. The tricky winger could well play a part tonight against his former club. If you're not at the Pirelli tonight, never fear as we are bringing you our traditional live blog complete with all the latest video, images and reaction from the Pirelli Stadium. Stick with SportMail for all the latest news tonight.

Recap: Burton Albion promoted to the Championship at Doncaster Rovers

BURTON Albion can secure promotion to the Championship with a point in Sunday’s trip to Doncaster Rovers (12.30pm). The Brewers have a three-point advantage over third-placed Walsall heading into the final day of the regular League One season, meaning a draw would be enough to see Nigel Clough’s men playing in the second tier of English football next season. To make sure of that, they will have to overcome the challenge posed by Rovers, who need a win and results elsewhere to go their way to have any chance of avoiding relegation. You can follow all the action this weekend with the Burton Mail. We will have all the build-up ahead of the crucial match at the Keepmoat, before coverage of all the key action from the game.
