The National Armed Forces Day event reaches its climax in Cleethorpes and Grimsby with another day of fun including aerial displays and military displays.
Today Cleethorpes hosts one of the biggest events in its history as it welcomes the 2016 National Armed Forces Day event. Tens of thousands of people are expected to gather in the resort for an awe-inspiring celebration of the nation's armed forces. In addition to a full parade of serving military personnel, veterans and cadets, there will be air display from the likes of the Red Arrows and Battle Of Britain Memorial Flight. Prince Edward, the Duke of Kent will be in town to watch the celebrations, as will Prime Minister David Cameron.

Three flag raising ceremonies are set to officially welcome the Armed Forces Day national event to the borough today in a ceremony involving land, air and sea. The ceremonies, which will take place in Cleethorpes, Grimsby and Immingham, will see the official Armed Forces Day flag transported to each location by an individual service.
