Associate Curator Laura Burkhalter will chronicle how the loan request process works and why some requests are granted and others declined.

The Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston's Senior Curator Jenelle Porter comes to the Des Moines Art Center to share her insight on the curation of the exhibition, Fiber: Sculpture 1960 - present. The exhibition opens to the public on Saturday, May 9.

Nick Cave in Conversation with Gilbert Vicario

Nick Cave is an artist, educator, and foremost a messenger, working between the visual and performing arts through a wide range of mediums including sculpture, installation, video, sound, and performance. On Thursday, April 11, 2015, he joins Senior Curator Gilbert Vicario at the Des Moines Art Center for a conversation about his work—featured in the exhibition Field, Road, Cloud: Art and Africa—and how it is shaped by contemporary America.
