I'm excited to hear the brass section of the TCU wind program premiere my fanfare "Change Ringing," which was chosen as one of several winners of the Dallas Winds' annual "Call for Fanfares" competition. I'm honored that I'll get to hear such wonderful musicians premiering my music in a beautiful venue. Then I'll continue live-blogging the subsequent Dallas Winds concert "Game On!" Maestro Jerry Junkin and the Winds are joined by Grammy-nominated film composer Austin Wintory, as well as TCU music professor William Gibbons.

The polls in the Duval First Unitary Election opened at 7 this morning. Thousands are expected to turn out in Duval County to cast their vote for mayor, sheriff, City Council and election supervisor. In this First Unitary Election, if any candidate in a race receives more than 50 percent of the vote, he or she wins the election. If a race has more than two candidates, and no candidate receives more than 50 percent of the vote, the top two vote-getters go on to the general election on May 15.
