35 of the 40 constituencies have been completed. Counting is set to resume today in the remaining five, with a number of recounts being called also. 148 seats are filled thus far. A full recount for the Dublin Bay North constituency has been called after it emerged Independent candidate Averil Power was just 67 votes behind fellow Independent Tommy Broughan in the last count. The recount is expected to take place at 11am. In Dublin South West, a recount has been requested after it emerged Independent candidate Katherine Zappone was victorious by only 152 votes on the 16th count, over Anne-Marie Dermody of Fine Gael.

The Men in Green Pakistan take on United Arab Emirates in the Match 6 of the Asia Cup T20 at Dhaka today. UAE have bowled well in their last two matches but their batsmen let them down. Same was the case with Pakistan as they went down for just 83 against India in their opening match. While Pakistan would want to win it big and better their NRR, UAE will have to bat out of their skins to have a chance against a strong Pakistan bowling attack.
