Since 2011, the Mary Seacole Hall’s I’m Glad I’m a Girl Foundation through its Summer Camp has embarked on a project to engage teen girls between the ages of 13-17 years by educating them about their rights as children and empowering them through conversations about their Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights. The camp uses a Safe Space Model and through empowerment activities and information-sharing activities. This programme helps girls to deal with the difficulties of the turbulent teen years, and life in a Jamaica that is rife with childhood sexual abuse and sexual harassment.
