The Future of Local Online Video
In his future of news document earlier this year, the head of BBC News, James Harding, spoke about the demands of local news and the importance of local video news. It's clear that video is an essential part of the future of the entire local news industry. In this conference run by the School of Journalism at Coventry University, we look at the state of play of the local online video market. We are investigating what the mainstream media are doing to embrace this and how the new kids on the block are challenging the traditional big beasts. Our speakers at this event are: Chair: David Hayward, Associate Senior Lecturer, Coventry University Nigel Dacre, Director Notts TV and Local Digital News Ltd Martin Head, Director of Content, Corsham TV, Corsham Institute Rachel Matthews, Head of Journalism, Coventry University David Dunkley-Gyimah, Viewmagazine, Video Journalism pioneer and consultant Stuart Hainsworth, Interactive Editor, BBC @hainsworth
