Unrest in Turkey after electoral board overrules majority vote in Kurdish-majority city

The people of #Van (Wan) took to the streets in #protest against the Turkish authorities' appointment of the ruling #AKP's candidate as mayor instead of #DEMParty's #AbdullahZeydan, who won the majority of votes in Sunday's local #elections but was disqualified in defiance of a final court ruling.
