The Principality of Monaco, governed by the House of Grimaldi and the world-famous Prince Albert, is no stranger to hosting parties custom-built and custom-made for the rich and famous. Every day and night, there seems to be a big occasion that gets the blood of the jet set pumping and the panygyrics of excess are the unwritten law of this smal enclave, located on the Cote d'Azur, the French Riviera, near Italy but surrounded by France. Monaco does have a national football team. It is a member of the Confederation of Independent Football Associations (ConIFA). However, there is but one true national team in Monaco, and that is Association Sportive de Monaco Football Club, or AS Monaco for short, managed by Portugal's Leonardo Jardim. Its won seven Ligue 1 titles, but the last time Monaco won Ligue 1 was back in 2000. On Wednesday, May 17, another big occasion awaits as the Hexagoal heads south from Paris, and the Paris Saint-Germain Football. A long and storied wait will finally come to an end as the Monegasques take on Christophe Galtier's AS Saint-Etienne at the national stadium of the principality, the Stade Louis II. It is a makeup match for the Week 31 clash that could not get off the ground due to the Coupe de La Ligue. The timing of the rescheduling ensures that this is a midweek coronation party you don't want to miss.
