Live Blog: Paris Saint-Germain vs. AS Monaco

This is the final before the 2016-17 Coupe De France final, for all it's worth. The final showdown of the year between the two best sides in French club football. Unai Emery's Paris Saint-Germain are the defending Coupe de France champions, but that will be put to the test as Leonardo Jardim's AS Monaco look to inch one step closer to a history-defining treble. The matchup is on April 26, 2017 at the Parc des Princes in Paris. "We earned an important three points in front of our fans for the championship," said Emery of their last match, a 2-0 shutout win at home to Montpellier HSC. "I think it was a very open match, very attacking and nice for the fans to watch. I think we controlled the game well, for the full 90 minutes and we deserved the victory." "We were the better team, even if we sometimes lost our balance," said Maxwell. "We controlled the game better in the second half with more possession. We created more chances, but the important thing was to win. Our confidence remains high. We did what we needed to do and we are winning our games. We don't know if that puts more pressure on Monaco. But they are having a great season and should be congratulated." "Every match is difficult and tonight we played a very good Montpellier side," said Blaise Matuidi. "We did what we needed to do to score twice and not concede. That's important. We continue on our winning ways and we happy with the victory." "The most important thing was to win and play well," added Angel Di Maria. "We knew that Montpellier would have chances on the counterattack, but that we would also have opportunities to score. The most important thing was to take those chances that came our way and play our football. We scored when we had the chance and that's why we won." Kickoff is scheduled for 12:05 p.m. PT/3:05 p.m. ET. The live blog begins at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET. Keep it right here on The Stoppage Time, powered by Azteca Soccer, for more world football news.
