Ask Sky: Sky Starting Out
Join us for a live online Q&A session with our Unipart Inspiring Young Talent award Winner Sky, where we’ll be discussing the broadcaster's award winning Starting Out programme with Martha Jennings, Starting Out Manager and Harry Eke, Marketing Apprentice at Sky. Sky's Starting Out won the 2016 Unipart Inspiring Young Talent Award. Sky launched it in 2013 as part of Sky Academy to ensure there was a business-wide focus on young talent. The programme includes work experience, placements, apprenticeships and graduate recruitment. Before its launch, there were more than 15 separate entry programmes, including work experience, graduate programmes and apprenticeships. Starting Out brought these all together and worked out where there were opportunities for growth. It now includes 900 work experience and paid placement places, 180 apprenticeships and 90 graduate opportunities each year, with 2,800 young people involved so far. This Q&A session will be a chance to quiz Sky about how the programme works in practice, and how it could be replicated in other companies. From how to engage with the right partners to how you can develop a companywide focus on young talent, this is your chance to get "beyond the case study". Submit your questions to us in advance by tweeting #SkyQA or emailing us at [email protected]. Come back on 28 November to see your questions answered!
