Treasury Stand-Off

South Africa's finance minister Pravin Gordhan has been under fire for his strong defence of the treasury's independence. It is alleged that his stance is the real reason behind an investigation by the Hawks into the so-called rogue unit at Sars. This unit was established while Gordhan was the head of Sars.
