4 areas under storm signal no. 3

Four areas were placed under public storm warning signal number 3 as typhoon Lando continued to move closer to central-northern Luzon Saturday early morning. State weather bureau PAGASA, in its 5 a.m. advisory, placed Aurora, Quirino, Isabela and Polillo Island under storm warning signal number 3. The storm warning means that the areas are expected to experience winds of 121 to 170 kilometers per hour (kph) in 18 hours. PAGASA warned about possible storm surges in coastal areas. Strong winds may cause heavy damage to high-risk structures and moderate damage to medium-risk structures. Widespread disruption of electrical power and communication services are expected in affected areas.
