Pacific Warriors - Newcastle Flotilla

On October 17th, Pacific Climate Warriors are going to come face to face with the biggest threat to their homes: the fossil fuel industry.

For 20 years they have asked world leaders to take action to stop polluting the atmosphere, but with greenhouse gas emissions continuing to rise, the Pacific Islanders can not wait for the world to act. So now the warriors of the Pacific are peacefully standing up directly to the fossil fuel industry that is threatening their homes.

Using hand-built traditional canoes, the Pacific Climate Warriors will paddle out into the harbour of the world’s largest coal port – Newcastle – to stop coal exports for a day and send their message to the fossil fuel industry and the world: “We are not drowning. We are fighting.”
